The VW ID Buzz, a ground-breaking electric vehicle reminiscent of the iconic VW Type 2 models, has been transformed with a stunning interior campervan design by the team at Love Campers.
Love Campers have designs for the VW ID Buzz Cargo, as well as the SWB and LWB ID Buzz Life.
It has an estimated driving range of 200 miles, and a battery that will charge to 80% in only 30 minutes. The camper works well for couples or solo adventurers who want an eco-conscious road trip. It’s a tight squeeze, but it will sleep up to two, making it the perfect match for a romantic holiday.
Clara Usiskin, Love Campers Director said:
“The Buzz campervan brings together the best features of vintage VW campers, with modern design and cutting edge sustainability. These vans are really special and we are we could something wonderful for our customer at Wild Drives.”
All about the details
The campervan features a space-saving slat bed alongside an attractive kitchenette. It includes an induction hob, a sink with a foldaway faucet and a drawer fridge. Importantly, it’s large enough for a bottle of wine!
The interior uses a modern ply laminate and bamboo. Yellow and white dual-tone cabinets create a bright and retro feel. To complete the eco-friendly design, Love Campers fitted a real bamboo ceiling and barley coloured lining.
On top of its undeniable good looks, the van offers a powerful lithium battery, inverter and a solar panel system on the roof. This makes the camper functional as a totally off-grid experience without burning any fossil fuels.

“As the Buzz is so different from other existing base vans, and the fact we had a specific brief to fulfill, there were some limitations on what could be incorporated into the build. However, we’re extremely pleased with the final result and hope you’ll agree that it’s absolutely stunning!”
In comparison to other van converters, we chose to build a van that could meet type approval safety requirements. This van does not include a pop top roof or a RocknRoll bed that has not been through full crash safety tests.
VW ID Buzz Cargo & SWB and LWB ID Buzz Life conversions
Fortunately, we’re pleased to announce that we’re already looking to the future. We’re working on designs for the currently unavailable LWB Buzz Cargo, as well as the SWB and LWB ID Buzz Life.
We’re now working on a conversion of the SWB ID Buzz Life that offers extra rear travelling seats. By winter 2023, we hope to offer a range of designs. The should include some that incorporate crash tested pop top roofs and RocknRoll beds.

“We’re excited to have another ID Buzz in the workshop already and are busy building a design that includes an extendable rear kitchen. In the near future we’ll be working on a design that incorporates the original VW seats with a pull out bed that works similarly to our popular Zanzibar design.”
