At Love Campers, we convert a variety of small vans into campervans. Today we’re looking at our VW Caddy campervan. We’ve been converting these vans for several years now – in fact, we were the first conversion company to develop full conversions for the VW Caddy Maxi!
Our micro campervans are perfect for small families, couples or adventurous solo explorers. The designs make brilliant use of the compact space available inside for optimal functionality. Adding a pop-top roof takes this van from a two-berth to four-berth, but it’s a van best-suited for those who like to make use of the outdoor space around their van for optimal comfort.
With all that in mind, we wanted to share a rundown of our most recent VW Caddy Maxi conversion. The design choices made by our client have created a warm and homely space.
Introducing the Mandalay design
One of the most recent conversions to leave our workshop is this VW Caddy Maxi in the Mandalay design. For conversion only, this starts at £16,999 + VAT.
Designed for flexibility, the Mandalay boasts a clever layout. Behind the two front seats, we have a cosy living area complete with a kitchen, dining space and a rear rock and roll bed equipped with seatbelts. You’ll also find a removable table that doubles as a dining surface and workspace. Furthermore, for off-grid escapades, a PortaPotti is conveniently tucked away in one of the cupboards.
A pop-top roof expands the living space, creating a surprisingly roomy interior and additional sleeping space that can accommodate two additional people. Importantly, Love Campers are one of the few converters in the UK to install pop-top roofs on the most recent Caddy model. Handcrafted with tongue and groove in a diluted indian rosewood stain with brass handles, the camper has a warm and cosy aesthetic while incorporating innovative features.
Practical and cosy camper
Practicality is central to the Mandalay’s design. The kitchen area is a study in efficiency, featuring an extendable table with plenty of storage. The versatile CAN unit combines cooking and washing facilities into a compact package. A top-loading fridge makes the most of a small space, keeping your essentials cool on any adventure.
Finally, This VW Caddy campervan has been upgraded with gas airblow heating, to ensure comfort in all seasons. For off-grid freedom, the electrical system includes a leisure battery, with a battery-to-battery charger and solar panel. It also includes a 240V hookup so you can plug into the mains when on a campsite. Multiple USB and plug sockets keep your devices powered up, so you can be as connected to the world as you like.
